In a FLEXlm floating licensing configuration, the license file is assigned to a machine designated as the FLEXlm license server. Each client workstation runs the Microwave Office /Visual System Simulator TM (VSS)/Analog Office application, requesting licenses from the server when needed.
- Note: Do not install a license server and PowerDesigner on the same workstation. License servers installed with PowerDesigner v11 are not compatible with v12.0 and higher. If you no longer use PowerDesigner v11, we recommend that you uninstall the old license server.
- Important: Starting with ArcGIS License Manager 2019.0 (Linux platforms only), the FlexNet licensing service must be installed as a separate step following install of the ArcGIS License Manager setup, both for clean installs or for in-place upgrades of the software. If the FlexNet licensing service is not installed, this will result in issues where clients cannot connect to the ArcGIS License Manager.

To install the License Manager, you 'Start the Installer'(above).
Unfortunately no link is shown to get the 'installer'. There are 2 duplicate links showing how to 'obtain a network license' but no installer link.
Please elaborate on how to obtain the 'installer'?

The installer in question is the standard MATLAB installer. The same installer is used for both MATLAB itself, and the license manager.

I already have a FlexLM license server which is used for several FlexLM licensed products. Can I just download the Matlab vendor daemon? Does 2014b have any dependencies on a specific version of FlexLM?

You can use the MATLAB vendor daemon with any compatible version of lmgrd. MATLAB R2014b requires lmgrd 11.11.1.2 or better.

I did not find licence manager in products list. Please help

If you do not see the license manager in the product list then the license you have specified, either by signing in or using a File Installation Key, is not a network license. If you believe this is an error, please contact MathWorks support:

I have never gotten the manual update process to work. I guess that flexnet_glxna64.zip file should be extracted from the main matlab path. If I do this, update the license file and run the license manager I get an error from the license manager. (License server system does not support this version of this feature. (-25,334))
This error occured when updateing r2017a license manager to r2017b without using the installation files for r2017b

I find these instructions to be painfully inadequate, as the procedure leaves out lots of gaps. As a 30 year CS veteran and full professor, I can't follow these steps, and I've used MATLAB for 20+ years. Really, MATLAB needs to make this process simpler, and there is no reason at all why it requires going through so many hoops. I've installed hundreds of software packages, and cannot recall any that required so many steps.
